Multi Use Centres
Caistor Multi Use Centre opened its doors to the general
public on 7 October 2006, with the official opening conducted by Roger
Douglas J.P., The High Sheriff of Lincolnshire.
The Multi Use Centre is an initiative led by the Caistor Development
Partnership and the Town Council, supported by the Economic Regeneration
department of the County Council, to develop the Old Magistrates Court
House of 19 South Street, Caistor.
The building has been completely refurbished to provide a
fully accessible facility offering new office accommodation on the first
floor and access to a range of community information services on the
ground floor.
The community rooms, which include a fully equipped meeting
room for 16 people
with full media and audio visual facilities and a one to one interview
room, can also be hired by contacting the centre on 01472 859017. Further
information can be obtained on
www.cmuc.org.uk.
The project is funded by Lincolnshire County Council, the
European Regional Development Fund, West Lindsey District Council, and the
Caistor Townscape Heritage Initiative.
Caistor Multi Use Centre is a member of the Lincolnshire
Multi Use Centres Network, established throughout Lincolnshire. Members
of the network offer free access to a range of services, normally found in
larger towns and cities. Each centre acts as a Hub, supporting and
exchanging information with other local communities to address the under
provision of services in rural areas.
There are further Multi Use Centres on the edge of the
Lincolnshire Wolds – at Market Rasen, Alford, Louth and Spilsby.
