Paths and a problem? Here’s help!
As the nights draw out and the weather improves, many more
people decide to pack a flask n’ sandwiches and go and explore the County
on foot or horseback!
We are very lucky in Lincolnshire to have a great network
of Rights of Way for you to explore, but occasionally you may encounter a
problem. This could be anything from a fallen tree causing an obstruction
across a footpath or you may find that the line of a path or bridleway has
been obscured by a crop or by the land being ploughed.
The Countryside Teams do a great job maintaining the Rights
of Way but with over 4000 km in Lincolnshire to keep an eye on, it helps
if members of the public can report any problems to the teams.
There is a new member of the East Division Countryside Team
who can help to sort out these issues. She is a local girl, a bit of a
‘yeller belly’ and is the Rights of Way Enforcement Officer – East
Division.
Claire Adams joined the team based at Horncastle, in 2006
and much of the Lincolnshire Wolds fall within her area.
Claire has worked for Councils in Norfolk, Durham and the
North West and has over 15 years of enforcement experience. She has also
served as a Police Constable for Northumbria Police, but is now very happy
to be based back in Lincolnshire and is thoroughly enjoying her new job.
She now lives at Great Limber, but grew up in Rothwell at
the Blacksmiths Arms where her parents Maurice and Sandra Phillips ran the
pub for over 20 years. A keen walker and cyclist herself, Claire is also
actively involved with the Scout Association, she also enjoys cooking,
horse riding and gardening if she has any spare time.
During the Wolds Walking Festival, Claire is leading a walk
in the Louth area on 22 May and would be pleased to welcome anyone and
have a chat!
So if you want to report any problems that you encounter on
Rights of Way, give Claire a call on 01522 782070. West Lindsey area is
covered by Mike Plant, who is also available on 01522 782070. |
