Chalk Stream Help and Advice

Donington on Bain Watermill Project aerial view

A dedicated Project Officer is available to offer advice and guidance on the long term management of chalk stream habitats and identify habitat improvement opportunities.  Where funding is available the project will endeavour to implement and oversee the development of a habitat improvement scheme ensuring it benefits both wildlife, by improving the habitat, and local communities, by reducing pollution and flood risk.

The Project Officer is also able to support Environmental Stewardship schemes that will benefit a chalk stream habitat.

The following information is useful for landowners, farmers and communities

If you are interested in the work of the Project or would like some advice on your chalk stream, the Project Officer can be contacted here: chalkstreams@lincolnshire.gov.uk

The Wild Trout Trust and the River Restoration Centre also have excellent websites where you can find advice.
