WALLIS LECTURE Stuart Sizer: Pictures in the Windows: the Stained Glass of St James' Church, Louth.
Stuart is a retired Headteacher and Local Historian with particular interest in Louth Navigation, The Marsh and Churches with particular onus on Louth St James'.
St James' Church, Louth has lost all its medieval windows to be replaced by Victorian and Edwardian stained glass of varying quality. But they all tell a story of the makers and those who gave the windows in memory of loved ones.
We will look at what we know was there before the present glass, how the glass was made and painted. The stories of some of the windows will be told in detail.
