As the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty celebrates 40 years of designation a Conference Living and Working in the Lincolnshire Wolds, was held on the 27th November at Market Rasen Racecourse.  This was a chance to review and discuss some of the current topics for this nationally protected landscape.

We had fantastic speakers - please click on the links below to see the smaller presentations that we have been able to upload!  We are also receiving some fabulous feedback from attendees of this well supported event.

Councillor Lewis Strange, Chairman Lincolnshire Wolds Joint Advisory Committee who was host for the event and provided the opening address.

Howard Davies, CEO National Association for AONBs - The national perspective for AONBs. 

Steve Jack, AONB Manager - The Lincolnshire Wolds AONB Management Plan, recent successes, future challenges.

Councillor Colin Davie, Executive Councillor for Economic Development, Tourism, Environment and Planning, Lincolnshire County Council - Supporting statement on behalf of the hosting authority Lincolnshire County Council.

Charles Dobson, South Elkington Estates - Farming in the AONB - the challenges and opportunities for sustainable farming.

Cheryl Hilliam, South Ormsby Parish Representative - A community perspective – pressures and solutions to Wolds living.

Liz Bates, CEO, Heritage Lincolnshire - Conserving and enhancing the AONB's cultural and heritage resource.

Question and Answer Session facilitated by Stuart Parker, Vice Chairman Lincolnshire Wolds Joint Advisory Committee.

Buffet lunch and opportunity to network and view displays.      

James Marshall, Natural England - Conserving and enhancing the AONB's natural environment through a landscape approach. 

Ursula Lidbetter, Chair, Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership - Securing a dynamic & sustainable rural economy in the Wolds.

 
James Milligan-Manby, Thorganby - A case study, Marris Barn restoration.  Farm diversification & the role of the tourism sector.

Question & Answer session facilitated by Councillor Alan Caine, Chairman Lincolnshire Wolds Joint Management Group.
