After an exciting and very busy year celebrating 30 years as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 2003, the Lincolnshire Wolds are looking forward to the future. What will the area look like in 25 years time? Will you still be able to enjoy it in the same way you do today? The new 5 year Management Plan for the AONB is the first major step to achieving our vision.

As so many people who live or work in, or visit the Wolds have been involved in producing the Plan, it holds few surprises. An overall wish for many people is that the Wolds doesn’t change considerably from how it is at the moment. The special qualities of the landscape, the quality of life for residents, the rich habitats for wildlife, and the opportunities for us all to enjoy the Wolds are recognised and highly prized.

Launch of the Management Plan - March 2004

The new Plan is out now and the challenge for everyone, not just the Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service and the local authorities, will be to implement the policies and to ensure the actions are carried out. It is a plan built on partnerships, and through partnership working it will be a success.

The Management Plan is available to download or you can view a hard copy at local libraries.
