Walkers Are Welcome Round Up Dec 2017

8th December 2017

Spilsby and Hundleby Walkers are Welcome have had a busy varied programme through the autumn. We have tried to encourage people of different age groups and walking ability to join us on the walks.

We had two events in September. We had a 1hour town walk  led by Stef Round which started at Spilsby theatre and finished there with a musical evening in the theatre bar.

The second walk was held on a Saturday morning which saw some new faces joining us. There was a choice of an easy 2 mile walk and a countryside 4mile walk both going to Halton Holegate, and finishng at The Meeting Point in Spilsby Methodist Chapel where the steering committee served refreshments.

In October a circular countryside  walk started at Partney.

On Halloween some of the WAW steering committee helped to support Spilsby Theatre Sessions House Project with a Zombie Walk through Spilsby which they had organised. Over 60 zombies took part in this event and it is hoped to repeat this event next year.

November saw an organised circular walk starting at Gunby Hall going to Candlesby and Welton le Marsh.

In December our Steering Group did a circular walk from Hagworthingham to Snipe Dales and back, fiinshing with a delicious lunch at JJ's cafe at Hagworthingham to finish our busy year.

Our first walks next year will be on January 27th starting at Hundleby Parish Rooms at 10am. There will be a 2 mile easy, dog friendly, walk - dogs must be on a lead- or a 4 mile countryside walk. Both walks will finish at Hundleby Parish Rooms for refreshments.
