Current Capital Projects

Donington on Bain re-meandering project

Since 2006, a Project Officer has undertaken a number of site visits offering long-term chalk stream management advice to landowners, farmers and communities.  The Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project has helped plan and find funding to deliver on-the-ground habitat improvements to many of the chalk streams.  See case studies map for locations and detail on past habitat improvement projects.

2020 habitat improvement projects in progress:

  • River Rase – In-channel enhancements
  • River Waring – Natural Flood Management options of field bunds and leaky barriers
  • Great Eau – Sediment investigation, fencing and in-channel enhancements
  • Laceby beck/River Freshney – in-channel enhancement work
