Geocaching - a modern day treasure hunt

Geocaching, Market Rasen

Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.

Geocaches are hidden all over the world. It is common for geocachers to hide caches in locations that are important to them, reflecting a special interest or skill of the cache owner. These locations can be quite diverse - anything from local parks, at the end of a walk or even underwater! A geocache can be anything from a small container hidden in a hedgerow to something a bit more mysterious.

All Down Your Wold geocaches are hidden in a public access area so please bear in mind the Countryside Code when enjoying the countryside. Taking part in a geocache trail is great fun for the whole family and a perfect way to get out and explore and learn more about our fascinating countryside.

Down Your Wold is using geocaching to help participants uncover the hidden heritage of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Down Your Wold geocaches are now hidden in various locations throughout the Lincolnshire Wolds waiting for you to find.
