Formed in 2013 at the Royal College of Music in London, the Marmen Quartet is fast building a reputation for the vitality and vigour of its performances. In 2019 it won the Grand Prize of the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition as well as the First Prize of the Banff International String Quartet Competition, with the Haydn and Canadian commission prizes in addition. The Quartet made its Proms debut live on Radio 3 in 2021.

In keeping with the different nationalities of the Marmen's members, recent engagements have taken the Quartet to the Amsterdam and Barcelona String Quartet Biennales, the Hitzacker and Lockenhaus festivals and to Stockholm, Lisbon, Graz, Dallas, Berlin, Leiden, Frankfurt and Modena, in addition to many appearances in UK.
