Consultation on Louth Cattle Market
21st September 2017Initial report following the consultation on Louth Cattle Market is now on ELDC website. The full Council will be taking a decision on the future of the Livestock Market site when it meets on October 11, 2017. Full Council will consider a recommendation from the Executive Board. -
Reservoir grants
18th September 2017Interested in a 40% capital grant for an irrigation reservoir? Who can apply: These grants are for arable and horticultural businesses. What are the grants for: These grants are to improve farm productivity through more efficient use of water for irrigation, and to secure water supplies for crop irrigation by constructing on-farm reservoirs and related systems. The RPA and EA are holding a workshop near Lincoln on Tuesday 10th October to explain the Water Resource Management capital grants and how to apply. The event will cover what grant is available and how to check that your project is eligible, as well as how to apply for an abstraction licence and capital grant with opportunity for one to one discussions. An Outstanding Week in September!
12th September 2017September has always been an outstanding month in our countryside, with harvests being brought safely home, trees and meadows taking on their autumnal colours, skies offering a full palette of hues, musky bonfires lingering in the evening air and a welcoming calmness for visitors. -
Lincolnshire Chalk Stream Festival
12th September 2017As part of the Heritage Lottery funded project 'Engaging the Lincolnshire Community with their Chalk Stream Heritage' the Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project kicked of the final year with a poetry competition. This was a great success and we had over 200 entries. Congratulations to the overall winner James Forrester. -
A View from the Wolds - Nettleton Nature Reserve and Ramblers Car Park, Normanby Road.
12th September 2017My favourite view from the Wolds is at the entrance to a site I have managed for the last five years for Lincolnshire County Council. Formally a landfill site, this area is now a haven for wildlife. A layer of clay was used to cover the rubbish that has naturally developed into a species rich neutral grassland.
